You will also participate in practical exercises aimed at enhancing your shooting accuracy and confidence.

NRA Basic Shotgun Course Overview
What to Expect:
During the NRA Basic Shotgun Course, students can expect a balanced mix of theory and hands-on practice. Our instructors, who are experienced shooters and NRA certified, will guide you through various shooting drills, including stance, grip, and target engagement. We will also discuss the importance of situational awareness while shooting and how to handle different scenarios you may encounter during hunting or shooting sports.
The NRA Basic Shotgun Course not only provides essential skills and knowledge for new shotgun owners but also reinforces the importance of responsible firearm ownership. By completing this course, participants will leave with a solid foundation in shotgun operation, safety practices, and shooting techniques, empowering them to enjoy their shooting experiences more confidently. Safety First:
Safety is our top priority throughout the NRA Basic Shotgun Course. Participants will learn about the various safety protocols associated with shotgun handling, including the use of safety gear such as eye and ear protection. Instructors will demonstrate safe handling practices to reduce the risk of accidents, ensuring that every participant understands the significance of following these guidelines both on the range and in the field.
Loaner Weapons:
There will be a $25.00 fee for loaner weapons per course. Some courses include loaner weapons at no charge. Ammo is available at an additional fee. If you do not have access to a shotgun, our loaner program is a great way to participate fully in the course without the need for personal equipment. We ensure that all loaner weapons are well-maintained and safe for use, providing you with a reliable experience as you learn.
Range and Weapons Rentals:
Range and weapon rentals are available – Call for more information. Fees are determined upon request as it needs to be determined by time and weapons usage. Ammo fee is always separate and an adequate lead time is necessary to allow for ammo delivery. Most ammo is available, but the quantity will vary. Students looking to improve their shooting skills can take advantage of range packages that offer extended practice time with expert guidance. Personalized coaching can enhance your abilities and help you reach your shooting goals.
Course Pricing and Availability:
Due to range time pricing, some courses may not be available for small class sizes. Prices are subject to change without notice. Once booked, the price is locked in. We encourage early registration to secure your spot, as classes are often filled quickly. Additionally, participants can inquire about group rates or special promotions that might be available for larger groups looking to learn together.
Payment Information:
All fees must be paid in full on the day of the class. A $75.00 deposit is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated. Deposits can be paid by check or Venmo, Chase Quick Pay, Zelle, or PayPal. Final payments must be in cash, check, or PayPal. Payment by PayPal must be made 3 days prior to the date of the class. All fees are subject to change without notice. All checks need to be sent to the address below made out to Paul Conforti. Do not send checks to the Watch Hill Avenue address. This payment structure allows us to facilitate a smooth registration process, ensuring that all participants can focus on learning during their time at the course.
